The Natural History Museum of Utah (UMNH) serves as the State designated repository (Utah Administrative Code R807-1) for archaeological and paleontological collections acquired under permit from state lands in Utah. Additionally, UMNH reposits Federal collections. Criteria for determining whether the Museum will curate a collection are in the Museum’s formally adopted Collections Management Policy (CMP) and in compliance with Utah State law. Reposited materials will be curated in accordance with the Museum’s established CMP and applicable guidelines: Preparing Collections for Reposit.
